Born in Wisconsin, Dennis Storrusten moved to the Great Falls area in 1964. He started doing commercial art and sign-painting in the early 1970's.
Dennis quickly expanded his work to include automotive artwork such as pinstriping and graphics for local auto enthusiasts. He skillfully paints with acrylics, enamels, water colors, and airbrush -- creating original works and expressing ideas for his customers. For the Great Falls Rod 'n Custom Car Show each year, Dennis does a painting of one of the actual cars in the Show depicted in a surreal setting--live--during the three-day event. This Show attracts cars from around the Northwestern United States. Other works have featured classic cars, their owners, hot rods, wildlife, Montana landscapes, and fantasy images. He is as gifted in recreating reality in his paintings as he is at creating unique surreal graphics. In 1988, Dennis was commissioned to design and paint a piece of art to be used as the cover for the 20th Annual C. M. Russell Art Auction--the largest exhibition of Western Art in the country. The 36" x 48" original piece which included intricate antique scrolls and a portrait of famous Western artist Charles M. Russell was sold in the art auction. His works have ranged in size from toy cars to billboard signs. Dennis has been using his talents to do fine art on canvas, cars, and motorcycles for over 30 years. His work rivals and exceeds the quality of work seen on vehicles and in paintings around the globe.
